TOPIC: 460 G&A.

460 G&A. 2 years ago #7181

I am in the process of building a 460 G&A. .458 Bullet, 404 Jeffrey case fire formed to accept the bullet. I am looking for the final reamer to cut the chamber. Could anyone help or refer me to a Gunsmith. Tried Danie Joubert and some others but they could not help.

Leon, you can contact Ken Steward at 082 2986 779 or at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . He made my cases for my .460 G&A and I'm very satisfied with his work.

NIcolaas, thank you I do have cases from Ken and also some Norma 404 Jeff fire formed to 460 G&A. Do you have a reamer or know of someone with a final reamer for the 460G&A ? Do you also have load data for the 460 ? Otto from OPM suggested S341 but he could not find the data he used before. I tried S355 on another rifle and we loaded around 87 grain with 88 giving a sticky bolt. I will be using the 450 grain Peregrine. I am a lefty and imported a Montana action from America, the barrel and action is currently with Truvelo but we need a final reamer.

Leon, I have a .460 G&A Ferlach built on P14 action. I'm also a lefty and the action is not bothering me at all. I'm loading 500gr Hornady DGX bullets, 89gr S365, 250 Large Magnum primers at a speed of 2050ft/s. The recoil is quite manageable with an excellent grouping at 50m (some shots cutting each other). Unfortunately, I cannot help you with a reamer.
